Kálf Kátr 31VII/6 — nie ‘nor’

‘Verð ertú’, segir drottinn dýrðar,
‘dyggust mær, á himni að byggja;
laun skaltú fyr þrautir þínar
þiggja’, slíkt kvað eingla tiggi.
‘Hræðaz þarftu ei hót nie dauða
heiðins grams nie mikla reiði;
sveitir ætla eg að senda á móti
sálu þinni eingla minna.’

‘Ertú verð, dyggust mær’, segir drottinn dýrðar, ‘að byggja á himni; skaltú þiggja laun fyr þrautir þínar’, slíkt kvað tiggi eingla. ‘Þarftu ei hræðaz hót heiðins grams nie dauða nie mikla reiði; eg ætla að senda á móti sálu þinni sveitir eingla minna’.

‘You are worthy, most virtuous maiden’, says the lord of glory [= God], ‘of dwelling in heaven; you shall receive a reward for your struggles’, thus spoke the king of angels [= God]. ‘You need not fear threats of the heathen king nor death nor great anger; I intend to send towards your soul hosts of my angels.’
