ǪrvOdd Ævdr 48VIII (Ǫrv 118)/1 — falla ‘to fall’

Létum falla         und fætr ara
tírarlausa         tólf berserki.
Þá varð ek skiljaz         á skapadægri
við þann inn mesta         minn fulltrúa.

Létum tólf berserki falla tírarlausa und fætr ara. Þá varð ek skiljaz á skapadægri við þann inn mesta fulltrúa minn.

We caused twelve berserks to fall, lacking glory, beneath the eagle’s claws. Then I was obliged to part on that fated day from the one who was my greatest confidant.
