[2] Munarvági: unnar vági R715ˣ
[2] Munarvági ‘Munarvágr’: Lit. ‘Bay of Desire’. Also occurs in Heiðr 27/8 and Ǫrv 7/2. Always Una- (lit. ‘Bay of Delight’) or Unnar- (lit. ‘Bay of Waves’) in R715ˣ (except on one occasion when it is Munarheimr: see Note to Heiðr 27/8). The p. n. Unavágr also occurs in HHund I 31/1; see further Kommentar IV, 274, but, as noted by Jón Helgason (Heiðr 1924, lxviii), alliteration in the relevant stanzas of Heiðr and Ǫrv confirm that Munarvágr is the correct form here. The location of the bay on Samsø, if a real place was intended, has not been identified.
