[7] œgði (3rd pers. sg. pret. indic.) ‘terrorised’: This emendation (from ‘æfde’) follows earlier eds. The pron. hann ‘he’ (so both mss) makes the line hypermetrical and has been deleted in keeping with the standard normalisations of the present edn (see also Note to st. 21/3).
