Sturl Magndr 2II/7 — gengr ‘will proceed’

Heilags hafið hála,
hraustr þengils sonr, fengit,
— þik reifir guð gæfu
gnótt — þjóðkonungs dóttur.
Snjallr má Eiríkr öllu
(aldýrr konungr,) stýra
(yðarr þroski gengr óskum
einart) við guð hreinan.

Hraustr sonr þengils, hafið hála fengit dóttur heilags þjóðkonungs; guð reifir þik gnótt gæfu. Snjallr Eiríkr má stýra öllu við hreinan guð; aldýrr konungr, þroski yðarr gengr einart óskum.

Brave son of the ruler, you have indeed received the daughter of the holy, mighty king; God grants you abundant luck. Wise Eiríkr can rule everything with the pure God; very precious king, your prosperity will proceed forever according to your wishes.
