Never did a mighty ruler select more splendid people to one hall for ale-drinking east or west under the white roof of the reindeer-sea [EARTH > SKY/HEAVEN].

[2] einu ranni ‘to one hall’: The feast was held in a large boat-shed near the bay in Bergen. This was prior to the construction of Håkonshallen, the large hall built from stone (prior to 1261), which is now part of Bergenhus festning (Bergenhus fortress).
