Ormarr Lv 1VIII (Heiðr 102)/1 — ríða ‘ride’

Skal ek víst ríða         ok rönd bera,
Gotna þjóðum         gunni at heyja.

Ek skal víst ríða ok bera rönd, at heyja gunni þjóðum Gotna.

I shall certainly ride and bear a shield, to wage war with the people of the Goths.

notes

[1-2] ríða ok bera rönd ‘ride and bear a shield’: Repeated in Heiðr 108/5-6 and 109/5-6. In those instances the scribes of both mss write í ‘in’ for ok ‘and’, as that of 203ˣ does here, but that reading makes no sense.
