Notes: [1]: The line is unmetrical, since hefir cannot carry a lift or stress and internal rhyme is lacking. — [6] og drap alla ‘and killed all’: Finnur Jónsson signalled drap as illegible in the main text of Skj A and conjectured the word to be byggð ‘settlement(s)’ in Skj B, but Ólafur’s reading drap is supported by Finnur’s transcription as ‘d2p(?)’ (Finnur Jónsson 1884-91, 115; cf. apparatus to Skj A).
