Árni biskup svaraði svo að af því kallaði hann á um þessar kirkjur að honum sýnist að þeir megi þær ei halda né eiga með réttindum og að erkibiskup bauð honum svo í skyldu og hlýðni við guð og sig að hann rétti slíka hluti með valdi síns biskupslegs embættis með öðrum þeim hlutum er umbóta eru þurfa á Íslandi í Skálaholtsbiskupsdæmi
