Hákon had to swear to the lord oaths concerning that which Óláfr stipulated: that {the battle-Baldr <god>} [WARRIOR] should flee from his ancestral properties to the end of his life.

He returned to Norway in 1028 as Knútr’s appointed regent, but perished at sea the following year (see McDougall and McDougall 1998, 80 nn. 149-50). — [1] *: Þá ‘then’ (so Flat) has been deleted because it makes the l. hypermetrical. — [4] bað ‘stipulated’: Beiddi ‘demanded’ (so Flat) is unmetrical (it makes the l. pentasyllabic), and earlier eds emend to bað.
