En þá er að lögum beitt griða ef maður nefnir sér votta fimm eða fleiri , lögsjáendur , mann tólf vetra gamlan eða eldra , frjálsan og heimilisfastan , áttræðan eða yngra , svo heilan og hraustan að hann sé bæði vegandi og verjandi fjörs síns og fjár , skildi að valda eða skjóta af bendum boga .
