frúin vænasta fjóra sveina
fæddi hun til spektar gædda.
Meingið nefnir Jacóbum yngra;
Jósép skínn í krafti ljósum;
Taddéus alt með gæzku græddi
góðr og mildur Simónis bróðir.

Önnur Máría giftiz manni; Alphéus náði mektarráði; hun, frúin vænasta, fæddi fjóra sveina gædda til spektar. Meingið nefnir Jacóbum yngra; Jósép skínn í ljósum krafti; Taddéus græddi alt með gæzku, góðr og mildur bróðir Simónis.
 
‘The second Mary married a man; Alpheus obtained a great marriage; she, the most beautiful woman, gave birth to four sons endowed with wisdom. The crowd mentions James the younger; Joseph shines in a bright power, Thaddaeus healed everything with goodness, the good and generous brother of Simon.
