Gief þú mier, er græddir lofða,
giftulist til stefjaskiftis,
Jésús minn, að orða glósur
endaz mætti dýrðarkvendi.
Yfirkóróna allra vífa
ein Máría drotning hreinust
henni þjóna helgar kvinnur
hallar guðs og meyjar allar.
Gief þú mier, Jésús minn, er græddir lofða, giftulist til stefjaskiftis, að glósur orða mætti endaz dýrðarkvendi. Yfirkóróna allra vífa, ein Máría, hreinust drotning, helgar kvinnur og allar meyjar {hallar guðs} þjóna henni.
Give me, my Jesus, who healed people, fortunate skill for a change of refrains, so that the explanations of words will be sufficient for the glorious women. The superior crown of all women, the one Mary, the purest queen, holy women and all maidens {of the hall of God} [HEAVEN] serve her.

Notes: [All]: Lines 1-4 introduce the poem’s second stef, which occupies ll. 5-8. It is repeated in sts 33 and 37. — [3] glósur orða ‘explanations of words’: Cf. 2/1 lofandi glósum ‘with laudatory explanations’. The poet is presumably referring to his interpretation and evaluation of the significance of the lives and examples of the holy women he celebrates in Mey. — [7-8] helgar kvinnur og allar meyjar ‘holy women and all maidens’: The two categories of holy women celebrated by the Christian church.
