Nú hefi ek dýra drengi talða,
þá er forðum mér fylgðu úti.
Munu víst eigi verða síðan
frægri fyrðar í fólkroði.
Nú hefi ek talða dýra drengi, þá er fylgðu mér forðum úti. Víst munu eigi fyrðar verða síðan frægri í {fólkroði}.
‘Now I have enumerated the noble warriors who formerly followed me out to sea. Men will certainly not afterwards become more famous in the army-reddening [BATTLE]. ’

[7-8]: The line is very similar to Ǫrv 39/7-8 fellu fyrðar í fólkroði ‘men fell in the army-reddening [BATTLE]’. On the cpd fólkroð, see Note to 39/8. NN §2406 discusses this and other compounds in ‑roð/-roði. Cf. also ms. 471’s reading of Ǫrv 68/7.
