Other eds prefer the remaining mss’ hjálm ok brynju ‘helmet and mail-coat’; this is consistent with the prose of Ǫrv (Ǫrv 1888, 107) which mentions both as being brought back to the Swedish court by Oddr and presented to the king. It could also be objected that Hjálmarr would be unlikely to speak of himself in the third person, but he is made to do so again in Ǫrv 24/5.
