Skaltu eigi gulli         né gersimum
með heilum hug         heima ráða.
Kemr þér bani         brátt at höndum,
ef vit skulum úti         oddum leika.

‘You shall not possess [your] gold or treasures at home with a cheerful mind. Death will strike you quickly if we two have to play with weapon-points out here.

This stanza is introduced by the words Gusi kvað ‘Gusi said’ (343a) or Gusir kvað vísu ‘Gusir spoke a stanza’ (471) right after the end of Ket 9.
