Mín var ævi miklu æðri,
þá er vér Hálfi konungi hoskum fylgðum.
Bárum allir eitt ráð saman
ok herjuðum hvert land yfir.

‘My life was much superior, when we followed prudent king Hálfr. We all pursued the same strategy and harried throughout every land. ’
notes and context
[3]: This line is hypermetrical, even if the ms.’s late form kóngi (for konungi ‘king’) is retained. It is therefore likely that the word kóngi is a later addition, and that the line originally read þá er vér Hálfi, as has been emended by Edd. Min., Skj B and Skald.
