text and translation

The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Inde digressis dolia septemi zonis aureis circumligata panduntur, quibus pensiles ex argento circuli crebros inseruerant nexus.
Iuxta que inusitate bellue dens extremitates auro preditus reperitur.
Huic adiacebat ingens bubali cornu, exquisito gemmarum fulgore
operosius cultum nee celature artificio uacuum. Iuxta quod eximii
ponderis armilla patebat. Cuius immodica quidamk cupiditate suecensus auaras auro manus applicuit, ignarus excellentis metalli
splendore extremam occultari perniciem nitentique1 prede fatalem
subesse pestem. Alter quoque parum cohibende auaritie potens
instabiles ad cornu manus porrexit. Tertius priorum fidutiam
emulatus nee satis digitis temperans osse humeros onerare sustinuit.
Que quidem preda uti uisu iocunda, ita usu perniciabilism extitit.
Illices enim formas subiecta oculis species exhibebat. Armilla
siquidem anguem induens uenenato dentium acumine eum, a quo
gerebatur, appetiit. Cornu in draconem extractum sui spiritum latoris
eripuit. Os ensem fabricans aciem precordiis gestantis immersit. Ceteri socie cladis fortunam ueriti insontes nocentium exemplo
perituros putabant, ne innocentie quidem incolumitatem tribuen-
dam sperantes.
