Þorkell í Tungu átti son roskinn er Þorkell hét og var kallaður tanngnjóstur. Hann hafði verið utan um stund. Þetta sumar kom hann út og var með föður sínum.
Kormákur sækir eigi brullaupið eftir því sem ákveðið var og leið fram stundin. Þetta þykir frændum Steingerðar óvirðing er hann bregður þessum ráðahag og leita sér ráðs.
