Sigurðr was fostered in southern Norway by a priest called Aðalbriktr.

[2]: Aðalbriktr is otherwise unknown, but he is also mentioned in MbHgHkr (ÍF 28, 297), in H-Hr (Fms 7, 199) and in Orkn (ÍF 34, 115).
