Flǫgð hvǫttu mik til Fyrileifar;
æ vask ófúss til orrustu.
Mik bitu ǫrvar af almboga;
mank aldrigi á Ask koma.
Flǫgð hvǫttu mik til Fyrileifar; vask æ ófúss til orrustu. Ǫrvar bitu mik af almboga; mank aldrigi koma á Ask.
‘Trolls incited me [to go] to Färlev; I was always uneager for battle. Arrows from the elm-bow bit me; I shall never return to Ask.’
