Nús, auðsendir, undir
allr Nóregr þik fallinn;
þín liggr gipt á grœnu
— goðs ráð es þat — láði.
{Auðsendir}, nús allr Nóregr fallinn undir þik; gipt þín liggr á grœnu láði; þat es ráð goðs.
‘Wealth-dispenser [GENEROUS MAN], now all Norway has submitted to you; your good luck is destined for the green land; that is God’s will.’
The helmingr commemorates Haraldr becoming sole ruler of Norway (1135).
This is the only helmingr that is not explicitly attributed to Halldórr. Mork has ‘Sva s. h.’ that is, Svá segir hann ‘As he says’ or Svá segir Halldórr ‘As Halldórr says’. For the identification of the poet, see Fidjestøl 1982, 157.
