text and translation

The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Hrosskell hét maðr, er nam Svartárdal allan og Ýrarfellslǫnd ǫll með ráði Eiríks; hann nam ofan til Gilhaga ok bjó að Ýrarfelli. Hann átti þræl þann, er Roðrekr hét; hann sendi hann upp eptir Mælifellsdal í landaleitan suðr á fjǫll. Hann kom til gils þess, er verðr suðr frá Mælifelli ok nú heitir Roðreksgil; þar setti hann niðr staf nýbirkðan, er (þeir) kǫlluðu Landkǫnnuð, ok eptir þat snýr hann aptr.
