The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Þann vetur lét Vigfús Gunnsteinsson fyrir föstu drepa þá Rögnvald Illugason og sonu hans tvo, Eyjólf og Vagn, upp frá Árnesi þar í fjöllunum. Voru þeir mjög ginntir heiman af bænum og sviknir í griðum. Um vorið eftir fór Gissur jarl sunnan og hafði nær þrjá tigi manna. Hann kom til Skagafjarðar. Tóku menn vel við honum. Hann reið norður til Eyjafjarðar og gerði Eyjólfur ábóti veislu á móti honum. Gengu menn vel í móti honum í Eyjafirði og gáfu honum gjafir. Síðan reið hann til Skagafjarðar og keypti Stað að Páli Kolbeinssyni fyrir hundrað hundraða og bauð Páll honum staðinn. Páll keypti þá Úlfsstaði og fór þangað byggðum en Gissur jarl fór til Staðar um vorið. En Einar prestur Illugason er áður bjó á hálfum staðnum gaf upp staðinn Gissuri jarli á vorþingi um vorið. Var þá fjölmennt vorþing. Efldu þá bændur í Skagafirði bú jarls. Gaf honum hver maður á, sá er þingfararkaupi átti að gegna. Gissur jarl reið til þings um sumarið. Þá var fátt með þeim Þórði Andréssyni og svo um veturinn áður er jarl var suður þar. Þórður var á þingi fjölmennur. Hrafn Oddsson reið eigi til þings það sumar.
