En eftir þat fýstist Ingibjörg ór Súrnadal, ok ferr hon heim til föður síns með fé sitt. Þorbjöirn aflar sér kvánfangs, ok ferr hann austr um Kjöl til Freyseyjar ok bað konu þeirar, er ísgerðr hét, ok fekk hennar. Fór hann eftir þat heim í Súrnadal ok tekr þar til ráða með föður sínum. Þorkell gulihjálmr lifir skamma stund þaðan frá. Tekr hann sótt ok andast, en Þorbjörn tekr fjárhlut allan eftir föður sinn. Hann var síðan kallaðr Þorbjörn súrr. Þau Þorbjörn ok ísgerðr áttu börn, þau er nefna verðr. Þorkell hét sonr þeira inn ellsti, annarr Gísli. Ari hét inn þriði, ok fór hann þegar austr til Freyseyjar til fóstrs, ok er hann lítt við sögu þessa. Þórdís hét dóttir þeira. Þorkell var maðr mikill ok fríðr sýnum, rammr at afli ok skrautmenni it mesta. Gísli var maðr svartr ok sem þeir menn, er stórir váru vexti. Ógerla vissu menn afl hans. Hann var hagr maðr ok iðjumaðr mikill, hógværr í skapi. Þórdís, systir þeira, var fríð kona sýnum, skörungr mikill ok heldr harðfeng í skapi ok vargr inn mesti.
