The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Þetta sumar fór Gissur utan á Eyrum og nokkurir íslenskir menn með honum, Þorleifur hreimur og enn fleiri. Skildu þeir Gissur og Oddur á Eyrum. Var það ráðið þá mjög að Oddur mundi vera fyrir sveitum Gissurar. Reið Oddur þá bráðlega norður til sveita og átti fund að Hestaþingshamri. Hann sagði bóndum að Gissur hefði beiddan hann að vera fyrir sveitum meðan hann væri utan. Bændur kváðust það gjarna vilja og báðu hann vera sinn forstjóra. En það réðst viku síðar að Hestaþingshamri. Voru bændur ákafir mjög að Oddur væri formaður þeirra. Oddur reið þá bráðlega vestur til Vatnsdals í Hvamm til Þorsteins og lét reka þaðan sauðfé margt, bæði ásauð og geldfé, og enn naut þau er þeir komu höndum á. Kallaði hann það sektarfé. Var það fé sumt etið þegar en sumt nytjað. Heinrekur biskup spyr þetta og sendi mann til Odds og biður hann láta rakna ránið en hann kveðst eigi það mundu gera. Þá bannsyngur biskup Odd og nokkura menn með honum Maríumessu hina síðari. Hún var þá á þriðjadag en kirkjudagur að staðnum var mánadag áður. Einar langur var þá með Heinreki biskupi heimamaður hans, bróðir Þorsteins í Hvammi, en hann var grámunkur í Tötru. Nú leið svo fram á sumarið.
