The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Þenna vetur fór Þorgils vestur á Snæfellsnes til Staðar til bús síns. Voru þeir saman á þriðja tigi manna. Fórst þeim vel og fengu færðir góðar. En er þeir riðu ofan eftir Haukadal var á þeyviðri. Og er þeir riðu á Haukadalsá hljóp áin ofan svo ákaflega að þá rak af baki er á ánni voru. Drukknaði þar Sveinn Ívarsson. Hann var sem fylgdarmaður. En þeim lagði öllum næst Þorgilsi, Bergi og Ásbirni. Þetta var Vincentíusmessudag. Þótti mönnum þetta kyn mikil því að vötn öll voru lítil bæði áður og síðan. Þorgils lét flytja lík Sveins til kirkju til Vatnshorns suður og gaf með líkinu kú til kirkjunnar. Reið Þorgils þá suður til Staðar til bús síns og dvaldist þar nokkura hríð. Reið hann síðan heim norður og varð eigi fleira til tíðinda í þessi ferð. Sat hann þá um kyrrt í friði góðum.
