Íslendinga saga 27 — ed. Guðrún Nordal
Not published: do not cite (Ísls ch. 27)
The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):
Um veturinn eftir jól fæddi Þóra Guðmundardóttir kona Þorvalds í Hruna sveinbarn. Töluðu menn við Þorvald að hann skyldi láta kalla eftir Kolbeini. Þorvaldur svarar: Eigi mun minn son verða jafnvel menntur sem Kolbeinn. En þó hafa það vitrir menn mælt að menn skyldu eigi kalla syni sína eftir þeim mönnum er skjótt verða af heimi kallaðir. Mun eg son minn láta heita Gissur því að þeir hafa lítt auðkvisar verið í Haukdælaætt sem svo hafa heitið hér til.
