The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Það var sex vetrum eftir andlát Einars Þorgilssonar að Sighvatur Sturluson gerði bú á Staðarhóli og Oddur dignari með honum. Sighvatur nam þar ekki yndi. Fór hann út til Staðar því að þá var svo ástugt með þeim bræðrum að nær þóttist hvorgi mega af öðrum sjá. Þann vetur vógu þeir Þorgrímur Ingimundarson og Bassi Óspaksson Jón Bjarnarson hinn óða á Staðarhóli eftir messu í stofu inni. Þeir voru systrasynir Jón hinn óði og Björn Sturluson og vinir góðir. Því sótti Björn Þórð bróður sinn að eftirmáli um víg Jóns. Þeir fóru fjórir bræður Sturlusynir og nokkurir menn aðrir vestur til Saurbæjar. Þeir gistu í Hvammi að Guðnýjar. Þau fóru öll samt til laugar í Sælingsdal. Þá bjó Hallur Arason á Höskuldsstöðum. Hann var þar kominn og synir hans. Þeir förunautar Þórðar höfðu þar tekið þjóf og ætluðu að festa upp en Hallur og synir hans komu honum í brott. Við það varð Þórður Sturluson svo reiður að hann bað ganga að þeim. Guðný móðir hans hélt honum og fleiri menn. Þá eggjaði hann bræður sína, Svein og Sighvat. Þeir Hallur hlaupa að heydes og vörðust þaðan. Þar vó Ámundi Bergsson mann er Þórhallur hét. En er Þórður vissi það þá bað hann þá Svein hætta atsókninni og var svo gert. Fóru þeir þá vestur til Saurbæjar og sættust á víg Jóns. Þórður bætti og það víg er Ámundi hafði vegið og settu því máli öllu. Þórður Sturluson fékk Guðrúnar dóttur Bjarna Bjarnasonar er átt hafði Þorvarður hinn auðgi. Tók hann við henni mikið fé. Gerðist Þórður þá höfðingi. Sighvatur bróðir hans var með honum lengstum.
