The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Nú kemur bréfið í Skálaholt. Þá sendir Páll biskup orð Þorvaldi Gissurarsyni og Halli og Magnúsi bróður hans og Sigurði Ormssyni og eiga þeir fund. Lýsir biskup yfir því fyrir þeim að kosningi var orpið undir hann og hann hafði ráðið fyrir sér að kjósa hann til biskups en eigi frá. Binda allir þeir þetta þá með fastmælum. Sendir biskup þá Sigurð Ormsson norður með bréfum til Guðmundar biskupsefnis. Það mælti svo: Páll biskup sendir kveðju guðs og sína Guðmundi biskupsefni. Guð hefir kosið þig til biskups og vér, og ertu fastlega kosinn að guðs lögum og manna svo sem á þessu landi má fulllegast. Nú er guð og góðir menn hafa þenna vanda á þig lagt þá ber oss nauðsyn til að finna þig sem bráðast því að eg kenndi þess í bréfi þínu að þú munt ætla utan í sumar ef svo vill sem þú mundir kjósa. Nú vil eg koma til móts við þig þar er þú vilt en kunna þökk ef þú sækir mig heim en skylda þig eigi til því að eg á mörg nauðsynjaerindi til erkibiskups, þau er eg vil attú komir á minn fund áður þú ferð utan.
