The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Það er sagt að Geitir fór heiman í Fljótsdalshérað til
Eyvindarár á kynnisleið og var í brottu meir en viku.

Og er hann var heiman farinn þá sendi Halla mann eftir Helga
og bað hann að hann skyldi hitta hana. Hann fór þegar í
Krossavík. Halla kvaddi hann. Hann tók vel kveðju hennar. Hún
bað hann að hann skyldi sjá meinið. Hann gerði svo og kvaðst
honum þungt hugur um segja. Hann hleypir út vatni miklu úr
sullinum og varð hún máttlítil eftir þetta. Hún bað hann þar
vera um nóttina en hann vildi það eigi.

Það var bæði að hún var máttlítil enda var hún angursöm við
hann og mælti: "Eigi þarf nú að biðja þig hérvistar. Þú munt
nú mjög lokið hafa verkum og get eg að fæstir munu lúka við
sínar konur svo sem þú munt við mig."

Brodd-Helgi fór heim og undi illa við sinn hlut. Halla lifði
litla stund síðan og var hún önduð er Geitir kom heim og var
honum sagt allt svo sem farið hafði. Og er nú kyrrt um hríð.
