The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):



Það er sagt að skip kom í Rangárós, það er fylgdi ósvipur
mikill og sjúkleiki, og sáu menn við að koma til þeirra að ei
fengju menn illindi af þeim og fór svo um hríð.



En er Þorsteinn frá þetta kvað hann mönnum ei sama að þeir
færust af bjargleysi. Fór þá Þorsteinn á fund þeirra og spyr
með hverju móti væri sótt þeirra.



En þeir sögðust orðnir fyrir gerningum "en nú vill engi á sjá
með oss."



Þorsteinn mælti: "Mun ei það vænst að þér farið með oss?"



En er þeir koma heim kvað Þórdís ei meðalendemi í vera hvað
hann tók til og vildi flýja bæinn. En Þorsteinn kvað ei það
skyldu og bjó eitt tjald skammt frá bænum. Því var hann
kallaður Þorsteinn tjaldstæðingur.



Nú gerðist hallæri mikið yfir þeim svo engi mátti hjá þeim
vera nema Þorsteinn einn. Og ekki var athæfi þeirra friðlegt
því að sá þeirra sem lengst lifði fal silfur mikið og vildi
að engi nyti.



Þorsteinn átti síðar Þórdísi Sigfúsdóttur. Þeirra son var
Skeggi, faðir Gunnars, föður Skeggja, föður Lofts, föður
Gunnlaugs smiðs.
