The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Úlfur hét maður er bjó á Þelamörk. Hann var hersir. Gulpir
hét maður. Hann bjó á Fíflavöllum í Tindsdal. Son hans hét
Ásgrímur. Hann átti Þorkötlu er kölluð var bringa. Ásgrímur
tók við föðurleifð sinni og var hinn mesti mannsómamaður.

En er Ásgrímur fór í víking þá var kona hans vanheil og vildi
Ásgrímur láta út bera barnið. Hún varð léttari um kveldið er
hann skyldi fara um morguninn. Ásgrímur kvaddi til þræl sinn
að grafa sveininn.

Hann svarar: "Mun ei ráð að búa gröfina?"

Ásgrímur kvað það vel mega. En sveinn lá á gólfinu. Þá heyra
þeir að sveinninn kvað:

Leggið mög til móður.

Mér er kalt á gólfi.

Hvar sé sveinninn sæmri

en að síns föðr ernum?

Þarf ei járn að eggja

né jarðarmen skerða.

Léttið ljótu verki.

Lifa vil eg enn með mönnum.

Þá mælti Ásgrímur: "Víst skaltu lifa frændi og munt verða
hinn mesti merkismaður af þessum fyrirburð."

Síðan lét Ásgrímur hann vatni ausa og var kallaður Þorsteinn.
