The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Hann kom þar sem Magnús konungur var að veislu og gekk að
hirðstofunni og beiddist inngöngu. Dyraverðir svöruðu og
kváðu það engan sið að ókunnir menn gengju þá inn er konungur
sæti yfir borðum.

Þorsteinn mælti: "Biðjið þann mann út að ganga er Styrbjörn
heitir."

Síðan hleypur inn annar sá er fyrir dyrunum var kallandi með
hlátri og mælti: "Út skyldi Styrbjörn ganga," segir hann.

Síðan þustu upp allir senn og mæla: "Gakktu nú út Styrbjörn
er Íslendingurinn kallar á þig. Hann fer eigi villt að
hirðmanna nöfnum en eigi vitum vér þann mann hér inni er svo
heiti."

Síðan slógu þeir spott og mikinn dáruskap hver í sínu rúmi og
mæltu að út skyldi Styrbjörn ganga.

Konungur tók til orða og mælti: "Lítið gaman er þetta og mega
manna nöfn margra saman bera og skuluð þér eigi spotta nafn
þetta lengur."

Og svo varð að vera sem konungur vildi. Síðan stóð konungur
upp úr sæti sínu.

Hann gengur út og var í skikkju dýrlegri og mælti: "Vertu
velkominn Íslendingur og tak yfir þig skikkju þessa og gakk
inn. Skal þér búa laug og ver velkominn með hirðinni og
enginn skal svo djarfur að þér geri nokkuð mein."

Allir tóku þetta að undrast. Síðan var hann með hirðinni.
Hann var einlyndur maður og fálátur.
