The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Það er upphaf þessar frásagnar að Haraldur konungur
Sigurðarson réð fyrir Noregi. Það var í þann tíma er Magnús
konungur frændi hans var andaður. Svo er sagt að Haraldur
konungur var allra manna vitrastur og ráðugastur. Varð það og
flest að ráði er hann lagði til. Hann var skáld gott og
jafnan kastaði hann háðyrðum að þeim mönnum er honum sýndist.
Þoldi hann og allra manna best þótt að honum væri kastað
klámyrðum þá er honum var gott í skapi. Hann átti þá Þóru
dóttur Þorbergs Árnasonar. Honum þótti mikið gaman að
skáldskap og hafði jafnan þá með sér er kveða kunnu.

Þjóðólfur hét maður. Hann var íslenskur og ættaður úr
Svarfaðardal, kurteis maður og skáld mikið. Hann var með
Haraldi konungi í hinum mestum kærleikum. Kallaði konungur
hann höfuðskáld sitt og virti hann mest allra skálda. Hann
var ættsmár og menntur vel, öfundsjúkur við þá er til komu.

Haraldur konungur elskaði mjög Íslendinga. Gaf hann til
Íslands marga góða hluti, klukku góða til Þingvallar. Og þá
er hallæri það hið mikla kom á Ísland er ekki hefir slíkt
komið annað þá sendi hann út til Íslands fjóra knörru hlaðna
með mjöl, sinn í hvern fjórðung, og lét flytja í brott fátæka
menn sem flesta af landinu.
