The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):



Þeir voru þá í bænum feðgar, Einar og Eindriði. Og einn dag
gengur Einar um bæinn og út á Íluvöllu, kemur að hrossunum og
sér og lofar mjög. Og er þeir ætla brott að snúa og ræða um
með sér hver eiga muni hrossin þá kemur Þorsteinn að og
heilsar Einari og spyr ef honum þyki góð hrossin en hann
svarar og kveðst vel á lítast.



"Þá vil eg að þú þiggir," segir Þorsteinn.



En Einar lést eigi þiggja vilja.



"Það veit eg," segir Þorsteinn, "að þú munt þiggja gjafar að
slíkum svo mönnum."



"Satt er það," segir Einar, "en mikið liggur nú á þínu máli
og berjum vér nú þar augum í."



"Svo verður þá að vera," segir Þorsteinn og skiljast nú.



Og litlu síðar gekk Eindriði að sjá hrossin og lofaði mjög og
spyr hver eiga mundi, kveðst eigi séð hafa vænlegra hest.
Þorsteinn kemur þá að og heilsar honum vel og segir að hann
vill gjarna að hann þiggi hrossin. Eindriði tók við og
þakkaði honum gjöfina og nú skiljast þeir.



Og er þeir feðgar finnast segir Einar að mikið mundi hann til
hafa gefið að Eindriði hefði eigi tekið við hrossunum.
Eindriði segir, kveðst það ekki svo sýnast, kveðst þykja gott
mannkaup í manninum.



Einar segir: "Eigi veistu allglöggt kapp fóstra míns, Magnúss
konungs, ef þú ætlar það auðsótt að sættast við hann en þó
muntu mega það."



Eindriði býður Þorsteini til sín og fór hann þangað og situr
hið næsta Eindriða um veturinn í góðu yfirlæti.
