Þar er nú til að taka að skip það kom þetta haust af
Grænlandi er Bárður hafði stýrt. Spyr konungur nú víg Bárðar
og alla atburði þá sem þar höfðu orðið.



Konungur lætur nú blása til móts einn dag og á því móti
talaði Haraldur konungur og sagði mönnum víg Bárðar hirðmanns
síns af Grænlandi "og þeir atburðir," sagði konungur, "sem
hér urðu um víg Grana. Veit eg víst nú að sá hinn sami Narfi
hefir verið Refur Steinsson. Mun eg lengja nafn hans og kalla
hann Króka-Ref. Nú þó að hann sé mikill fyrir sér þá verðum
vér þó að geyma vorrar tignar, að leiða öðrum að drepa niður
hirð vora og af því gerum vér hér í dag þenna mann útlægan
fyrir endilangan Noreg og svo vítt sem vort ríki stendur."



Eftir það nefnir konungur til Eirík bróður Grana og með honum
sex tigu manna að fara suður til Danmerkur að sitja um líf
Refs.
