The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Þorvaldur hét maður og var Eysteinsson og var kallaður
tinteinn. Hann var maður auðigur og hagur, skáld og engi
skörungur í skaplyndi. Bróðir hans hét Þorvarður er bjó
norður í Fljótum. Þeir voru frændur margir og var sá
kynsþáttur kallaður Skíðingar og hafði litla mannheill.

Þorvaldur tinteinn bað Steingerðar og að frænda ráði var hún
honum gefin og ekki með hennar mótmæli. Þetta var samsumars
og Steingerður gekk frá Bersa. Þessi tíðindi fréttir Kormákur
og lætur sem hann viti eigi. Litlu áður hafði Kormákur flutt
varnað sinn til skips og ætlaði utan og báðir þeir bræður.

Einn morgun snemma ríður Kormákur frá skipi, fer að finna
Steingerði og talar við hana, biður hana gera sér skyrtu. Hún
kvað enga þörf komu hans, kvað Þorvald eigi mundu þola
hefndalaust eða frændur hans.

Kormákur kvað vísu:

Mákak hitt of hyggja

hví þú skyldir verða,

gullhlaðs geymiþella,

gefin tindráttar manni.

Trauðla má eg of tæja

tanna, silki-Nanna,

síð er þig fastnaði frægja

faðir þinn blotamanni.

Steingerður mælti: "Auðheyrður er fjandskapur í slíku og mun
eg segja Þorvaldi hróp þitt og er slíkt engum manni
sitjanda."

Þá kvað Kormákur:

Þarftaðu hvít að hæta

Hlín skrautlegrar línu,

vér kunnum skil skepja,

Skíðinga mér níði.

Naddhríðar skal eg níða

njót svo að steinar fljóti.

Nú hefi eg illan enda

Eysteins sonum leystan.

Eftir þetta skilja þau með engri blíðu og fór Kormákur til
skips.
