The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Þorvaldur hét maður, góður bóndi. Hann bjó í Langadal á þeim
bæ er heitir í Engihlíð. Hann var læknir góður. Hann átti tvo
sonu. Hét annar Einar en annar Bjarni.

Indriði hét maður og félagi Orms. Hann var mikill maður og
vígur hverjum manni betur og hinn besti drengur. Hann var
kominn út í Kolbeinsárósi. Hann var þá búinn til siglingar er
þetta var tíðinda.

Össur hét maður. Hann bjó í Skagafirði á þeim bæ er á Grund
heitir. Hann var Arngrímsson. Jórunn hét móðir hans og var
systir Miðfjarðar-Skeggja. Össur var höfðingi mikill því að
hann hafði goðorð um hinn efra hlut Skagafjarðar og út til
móts við Hjaltasonu. Hann var ódældarmaður og ekki var hann
vinsæll, meiri og sterkari en flestir menn, ótrúr og
undirhyggjufullur.

Þórhallur hét maður. Hann bjó á Miklabæ í Óslandshlíð. Ólöf
hét kona hans. Hún var væn kona og hinn mesti skörungur.
Þórhallur var vellauðigur að fé. Engi var hann kempa kallaður
og heldur hræddur og að öllu hið mesta lítilmenni. Hann var
hælinn og hinn mesti skrumari og þóttist flest ráð kunna.
Ólöf húsfreyja hans var Hrolleifsdóttir þess er nam
Hrolleifsdal upp af Sléttahlíð. Hún var fyrir þeim um alla
hluti. Hafði hún verið gefin honum til fjár. Hún var ung en
Þórhallur við aldur. Hún var læknir góður.

Kálfur hét bóndi einn í Hjaltadal. Hann bjó á Kálfsstöðum.
Hann var mikilhæfur bóndi.
