The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):



Nú er frá því að segja hvað þeir hjöluðust við fóstrar,
Þórarinn og Barði, áður hann væri í braut búinn. Þeir hjöluðu
mart. Það var laugarmorguninn snemma. Skyldi hann þá fara að
finna föruneyti sitt er með honum skyldu fara. Og þá er hann
er búinn til brautreiðar þá eru þar leiddir fram hestar tveir
hvítir og svört eyru á hvorumtveggja. Þá hesta átti Þórður
frá Breiðavaði. Þeir höfðu horfið um sumarið á þingi.



Nú mælti Þórarinn: "Hér eru hestar Þórðar. Skaltu fara og
færa honum og þiggja engi laun af honum fyrir og ei er þess
vert fyrir því að eg réð er þeir hurfu og hafa í minni
varðveislu verið. Og var torsætt að þeirra hefði neytt verið.
En því lét eg hesta þessa taka að mér þótti þetta merkilegra,
að spyrja eftir hestum þessum en dusilhrossum og hefi eg oft
senda menn til Borgarfjarðar suður í sumar að spyrja eftir
þeim. Þótti mér það vera merkilegt erindi og vættir mig að
eigi mundi í það ráðið. Og nú hefi eg sendan mann af nýju
suður og mun sá sunnan koma á morgun og segja tíðindi sunnan
úr héraðinu."



Þá var kaupstefna á Hvítárvöllum og voru skip komin af hafi
litlu fyrr en það var.
