Það var einn tíma að þau Þorgils og Helga fóru til Hjalla til
heimboðs. Og eftir það tók Þorgils bóndi sótt. Hann var þá
hálfníræður. Hann lá viku og andaðist síðan. Þessu nærri
andaðist Þóroddur bóndi og Bjarni bóndi hinn spaki. Voru þeir
allir jarðaðir að þeirri kirkju er Skafti lét gera fyrir utan
lækinn en síðan voru færð bein þeirra í þann stað er nú
stendur kirkjan því að Skafti hét að gera kirkju þá er Þóra
braut fót sinn þá er hún var að léreftum sínum.



Þorgils örrabeinsstjúpur þótti hinn mesti merkismaður,
vinfastur og vel stilltur, þrautgóður, djarfur og þó
stórráður ef honum var í móti gert, þoldi vel og karlmannlega
stórar mannraunir. Frá honum er kominn mikill ættbogi. Börn
þeirra Þorgils og Helgu voru þau Grímur glömmuður, Illugi og
Þórður.



Þorlákur byskup var Þórhallsson. Móðir hans var Eyvör. Móðir
Eyvarar var Jórunn dóttir Þorgils örrabeinsstjúps og Helgu.
Oddur hét son þeirra. Hann var faðir Jóns, föður Gissurar,
föður Gríms, föður Guðlaugar, móður Jörundar byskups. Sonur
Gríms glammaðar Þorgilssonar var Ingjaldur, faðir Gríms,
föður Einars, föður Hallkötlu, móður Steinunnar, móður
Herdísar, móður Bjarnar, föður Gissurar galla, föður Hákonar,
föður Jóns.
