The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):



Hróar hét maður. Hann bjó á þeim bæ er að Hofi hét. Það er í
Fljótsdalshéraði fyrir vestan Lagarfljót og fyrir utan Rangá
en fyrir austan Jökulsá. Þessi sveit hefir tekið viðnefni af
Hróari og heitir Hróarstunga. Hann fékk og viðnefni af
Tungunni og var kallaður Tungugoði. Barnlaus maður var hann
og átti mergð fjár. Hann var þá gamall maður.



Þess er getið að Hróar gerir heimanför sína norður til
Vopnafjarðar. Hann kemur að kvöldi í Krossavík hina ytri.
Geitir Lýtingsson tók við honum vel og ágætlega og bauð honum
þar að sitja meðan hann vildi. Hróar Tungugoði er þar þrjár
nætur.



Eftir það biður hann reka að hesta þeirra félaga og kvaðst þá
vilja lýsa yfir erindum sínum "og er eg til þess hingað
kominn að eg býð heim til fósturs Þiðranda syni þínum og ef
þú vilt þetta þá gef eg honum eftir minn dag fé og staðfestu
og ríki. En Þorkell taki þitt mannaforráð eftir þinn dag.
Þykir mér þú því að eins mína ferð góða gera ef eg fæ þetta
sem eg beiði. Mun okkur þá að þessum manni vera mikil styrkur
að hann er sonur þinn en fóstri minn og erfingi."



Geitir kvaðst eigi nenna né vilja drepa hendi við svo miklum
sæmdum.



Fer nú Þiðrandi austur með Hróari í Tungu og gerir Hróar til
hans hvað öðru betur. Hefur Þiðrandi þar litla stund áður
verið að það máttu allir sjá að Hróar unni honum mikið og þar
út í frá alþýða manns, svo var hann vinsæll, og það hélst
honum til dauðadags.



Var þá Þiðrandi sex vetra gamall er hann fór til fósturs úr
Krossavík. Þorkell var þá tíu vetra.
