text and translation

The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Með jarli váru brœðr tveir sœnskir at ætt. Hét annarr Halli, en annarr Leiknir. Þeir váru menn miklu meiri ok sterkari en í þann tíma fengisk þeirra jafningjar í Noregi eða víðara annars staðar. Þeir gengu berserksgang ok váru þá eigi í mannlegu eðli, er þeir váru reiðir, ok fóru galnir sem hundar ok óttuðusk hvárki eld né járn, en hversdagliga váru þeir eigi illir viðreignar, ef eigi var í móti þeim gǫrt, en þegar inir mestu ørskiptamenn, er þeim tók við at horfa. Eiríkr inn sigrsæli Svíakonungr hafði sent jarli berserkina ok setti varnað á, at hann skyldi gera vel til þeirra, ok sagði, sem var, at it mesta fullting mátti at þeim verða, ef til yrði gætt skapsmuna þeira.
