Egils saga Skalla-Grímssonar 2 — ed. not skaldic
Not published: do not cite (Eg ch. 2)
The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):
Auðbjörn hét þá konungur yfir Firðafylki. Hróaldur hét jarl
hans, en Þórir sonur jarlsins.
Þá var Atli hinn mjói jarl; hann bjó á Gaulum. Hans börn voru
þau Hallsteinn, Hólmsteinn, Hersteinn og Sólveig hin fagra.
Það var á einu hausti, að fjölmennt var á Gaulum að
haustblóti. Þá sá Ölvir hnúfa Sólveigu og gerði sér um títt;
síðan bað hann hennar, en jarlinum þótti manna munur og vildi
eigi gifta hana. Síðan orti Ölvir mörg mansöngskvæði um hana.
Svo mikið gerði Ölvir sér um Sólveigu, að hann lét af
herförum, og voru þá í herförum Þórólfur og Eyvindur lambi.
