The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Það barst að eitt sumar að sú kona kom til Björgynjar er
Ragnhildur hét, dýrleg kona. Hana átti Páll Skoftason. Hún
hélt einu langskipi, fór svo veglega sem lendir menn,
dvaldist þar í bænum.

Og er hún bjóst í brott þá sá konungur ferð hennar og mælti:
"Hvað er nú skálda með oss?" segir konungur.

Þar var Snorri Bárðarson. Honum var ekki auðfynt og tók hann
ekki svo skjótt til sem konungur vildi.

Þá mælti konungur: "Eigi mundi svo fara ef Einar væri hér með
oss."

Hann var þá nakkvað svo fráskili orðinn konungi fyrir ógá og
spyr konungur ef hann væri í bænum og mælti að fara skyldi
eftir honum.

Og er hann kom á bryggjurnar mælti konungur: "Velkominn
skáld. Sjá nú hversu veglega ferð konu þessar er búin. Yrk nú
vísu og haf lokið áður skipið gengur út fyrir Hólm."

Einar svarar: "Eigi mun það kauplaust."

Konungur spurði: "Hverju skal kaupa?"

Einar svaraði: "Þú skalt skyldur til og hirðmenn þínir sjö að
í frá að sitt orð muni hver yðar í vísunni og ef það brestur
gefið mér jafnmarga aska hunangs sem þér munið eigi orðin."

Konungur játti því.

Þá kvað Einar vísu:

Hola báru rístr hlýrum

hreystisprund að sundi,

blæs élreki of ási,

Útsteins, vefi þrútna.

Varla heldr und vildra

víkmar á jarðríki,

breiðr viðr brimsgang súðum

barmr, lyftingar farmi.

Þá mælti konungur: "Það ætla eg að eg muni: "Hola báru rístr
hlýrum" -já, veit guð - "barmr lyftingar farmi.""

Aldregi mundu þeir það er í milli var.

Einar var þá í konungssveit og í öllu samlagi við
konungsmenn.
