Ólafur konungur sendi og það sama vor Leif Eiríksson til
Grænlands að boða þar kristni og fór hann það sumar til
Grænlands. Hann tók í hafi skipsögn þeirra manna er þá voru
ófærir og lágu á skipsflaki og þá fann hann Vínland hið góða
og kom um sumarið til Grænlands og hafði þannug með sér prest
og kennimenn og fór til vistar í Brattahlíð til Eiríks föður
síns. Menn kölluðu hann síðan Leif hinn heppna.



En Eiríkur faðir hans sagði að það var samskulda er Leifur
hafði borgið skipsögn manna og það er hann hafði flutt
skémanninn til Grænlands. Það var presturinn.
