Snemma um vorið fór Ólafur konungur austur til Konungahellu
til stefnu móti Sigríði drottningu. En er þau fundust þá
töluðu þau það mál er rætt hafði verið um veturinn, að þau
mundu gera samgang sinn, og fór það mál allt líklega. Þá
mælti Ólafur konungur að Sigríður skyldi taka skírn og rétta
trú.
Hún segir svo: "Ekki mun eg ganga af trú þeirri er eg hefi
fyrr haft og frændur mínir fyrir mér. Mun eg og ekki að því
telja þótt þú trúir á þann guð er þér líkar."
Þá varð Ólafur konungur reiður mjög og mælti bráðlega: "Hví
mun eg vilja eiga þig hundheiðna?" og laust í andlit henni
með glófa sínum er hann hélt á.
Stóð hann upp síðan og bæði þau.
Þá mælti Sigríður: "Þetta mætti verða vel þinn bani."
Síðan skildu þau. Fór konungur norður í Víkina en drottning
austur í Svíaveldi.
