Ólafur konungur lét taka hauk er Ástríður átti og lét plokka
af fjaðrar allar og sendi henni síðan.
Þá mælti Ástríður: "Reiður er bróðir minn nú."
Síðan stóð hún upp og gekk til konungs. Hann fagnaði henni
vel. Þá mælti Ástríður, segir að hún vill að konungur sjái
fyrir hennar ráði slíkt sem hann vill.
"Það hugði eg," segir konungur, "að eg mundi fá vald til að
gera þann tiginn mann sem eg vil hér í landi."
Lét konungur þá kalla til tals Ölmóð og Erling og alla þá
frændur. Var þá talað bónorð þetta. Lauk svo að Ástríður var
föstnuð Erlingi. Síðan lét konungur setja þingið og bauð
búendum kristni. Var þá Ölmóður og Erlingur forgangsmaður að
flytja þetta konungsmál og þar með allir frændur þeirra. Bar
þá engi maður traust til að mæla í móti. Var þá skírt það
allt fólk og kristnað.
