svo norður um fjall til Þrándheims á fund Hákonar jarls föður
síns.
Þess getur Þórður Kolbeinsson í Eiríksdrápu:
Og sannlega sunnan,
sáust vítt búendr ítrir
stríð, um stála meiða
stórhersögur fóru.
Súðlöngum frá Sveiða
sunnr af dregnum hlunni
vangs á vatn um þrungið
viggmeiðr Dana skeiðum.
