Ólafur lá við Borgundarhólm og fengu þar veður hvasst og
storm sjávar og mega þeir þar eigi við festast og sigla þaðan
suður undir Vindland og fá þar höfn góða, fara þar allt með
friði og dvöldust þar um hríð.
Búrisláfur hét konungur í Vindlandi. Hans dætur voru þær
Geira, Gunnhildur og Ástríður. Geira konungsdóttir hafði þar
vald og ríki sem þeir Ólafur komu að landi. Dixin er sá maður
nefndur er mest forráð hafði með Geiru drottningu.
En er þau höfðu spurt að þar voru við land komnir ókunnir
menn, þeir er tígulega létu yfir sér og þeir fóru þar með
friði, þá fór Dixin á fund þeirra með orðsending drottningar,
Geiru, þá að hún vill bjóða þeim mönnum til veturvistar er
þar voru komnir því að þá var mjög liðið á sumarið en
veðrátta hörð og stormar miklir.
En er Dixin kom þar þá varð hann brátt þess var að þar réð
fyrir ágætur maður, bæði að ætt og ásýnum. Dixin segir þeim
að drottning bauð þeim til sín með vináttuboði. Ólafur
þekktist það boð og fór um veturinn til Geiru drottningar og
sýndist hvort þeirra öðru afar vel svo að Ólafur hefir uppi
orð sín og biður Geiru drottningar. Og verður það að ráði
gert að Ólafur fær Geiru drottningar þann vetur. Gerðist hann
þar þá forráðamaður þess ríkis með henni.
Hallfreður vandræðaskáld getur þess í drápu þeirri er hann
orti um Ólaf konung:
Hilmir lét að hólmi
hræskóð roðin blóði,
hvað um dyldi þess höldar,
hörð og austr í Görðum.
